I realized a few days ago that my year here in St. George is almost halfway over. It's so strange to see life passing by- even though my goal is to start school in Cedar City, I've been enjoying this so much that I almost don't want it to end! Not quite though. I am really looking forward to college because I like to have short-term goals (like tests and papers) and VACATIONS in the Summer. Oh not to mention that I'll be studying piano non-stop under this fantastic Russian man and maybe, despite my reluctance, I'll actually make friends my own age who have similar interests? So, in six more months I'll be starting this venture, and I know it's going to feel like one month because that's what the past six have felt like. Boy oh boy oh boy this is going to be fun!
Another thing I want to tell you, because yesterday was Father's Day, is that I have the Best Father in the whole entire world. I can't really share with you all the funny memories, and the times he comforted me when I was sad, and the camping trips, and the track meets, and the times he tried to teach me to dance, and the birthday breakfasts, and the Sunday breakfasts, and the way he prays for me, and the Christmases, and I could go on forever, but suffice it to say that the man has given everything for his family, and continues to do it every day, with love. I don't think I've ever met a more generous, smart, loving, Godly man, and I hope that some day I can give back to him even a fraction of what he's given to me. I am incredibly humbled by the gift of a wonderful father, because I know it's rare in today's world, but for some reason, God gave him to us and so I just want him to know he's loved.
Happy Father's Day, Dad.
